CTMedia participates in PHIDIAS project, exploring the future of television

The CTMedia La Salle begins its participation in the Avanza  I+D project  PHIDIAS (Plataforma Híbrida de Difusión Inteligente de Aplicaciones y Servicios para Televisión, Hybrid platform for the intelligent broadcasting of applications and sercices for TV). The PHIDIAS project opens a new window for the traditional TV to the  communication networks of Internet.  PHIDIAS aims to create a link between the world of broadcasting, that use the classical topology with point-to-multipoint transmission, and the Internet world, using  point to point topologies, with the aim to make  the user more participant over their television experience. The project involves the major industry players in broadcast and audiovisual in Spain as Abertis Telecom, Hispasat, Televisió de Catalunya, Antena 3TV and Activa Multimedia. CTMedia will participate in the project by contributing with  their experience in SVC (Scalable Video Content) video coding technologies, applied to both broadcast and broadband networks.
