No et Fallis | Health Week at La Salle-URL

An opportunity to reflect, learn and promote a healthy lifestyle.

From February 19 to 23, La Salle Campus Barcelona celebrated the 2nd edition of Health Week with activities to promote physical and emotional well-being on campus.

Maintaining a healthy and balanced diet, exercising several times a week or having basic knowledge about first aid are habits that can help us to considerably improve our lifestyle. For this reason, the campus has designed a daily agenda with healthy breakfast options, physical and sports activities for all tastes, and round tables.

In addition, challenges such as "Gym Week", "No Tobacco Week", "10,000 Steps a Day" or "No Elevators" are proposed, encouraging participation and the adoption of healthy habits on a daily basis.

The importance of adopting healthy habits

Health is a fundamental aspect of our lives that influences our academic performance, quality of life and our ability to face challenges. Among others, the benefits and importance of acquiring healthy habits are:

Physical benefits:

  • Improves physical health: increases energy, strength, endurance and flexibility.

  • Strengthens the immune system: helps you fight infections and diseases.

  • Improves sleep quality: getting enough sleep is essential for physical and mental health.

Mental benefits:

  • Improves mood: reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression.

  • Improves concentration and memory: helps you be more productive at work or school.

  • Reduces stress: helps you cope better with difficult situations.

Round tables | Learning from Experts

To begin with, round tables were organized where health experts shared their knowledge and experiences. These sessions offered the opportunity to discuss relevant topics such as nutrition, the importance of physical exercise, stress management and mental health promotion.

  • ALL 1 | FROM DOL TO DAKAR

  • SUSTAINABILITY | BARCELONA CITY COUNCIL

  • POSTURAL HYGIENE AT WORK AND IN THE CLASSROOM

We believe that these dynamics are fundamental to raise awareness in our university community about the importance of taking care of ourselves and others.

Sports Activities | We love challenge

Physical exercise is fundamental to a healthy lifestyle, so we have prepared sports activities in which everyone can participate. From yoga sessions to basketball and soccer games to release tension and promote teamwork.

  • GOOD MORNING | YOGA

  • NORDIC WALK

  • SOCCER, BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL GAMES

These activities provide opportunities to socialize and strengthen the bonds between members of our university community.

First Aid Workshop

Learning basic skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), wound and burn management, and medical emergency response can make all the difference in crisis situations.

We should all be prepared to act in case of need, and this workshop was an invaluable opportunity to learn life-saving skills.

Healthy Eating | The healthier the happier

During the second edition of Health Week, healthy meal options that promote healthy and conscious eating were included on the campus cafeteria menu.

A balanced diet is essential to maintain health and wellness, and what better way to promote these actions than from the campus itself.

The 2nd edition of La Salle-URL Health Week was a great success. Acquiring healthy habits and learning more about the benefits they have on us, helps us to have a healthier and more balanced life, which is in turn, a happier life.
