ECSA-5 Best Paper Award
The Signal Processing team from the Research Group on Media Technologies was present in the 5th Electronic Conference on Sensors and Applications, held on-line from the 15th to the 30th of November 2018. Joan Claudi Socoró, Rosa Ma Alsina-Pagès, Francesc Alías and Ferran Orga presented a paper in the framework of the LIFE Project DYNAMAP entitled "Analysis of the Acoustic Characteristics of a suburban Multi-Sensor Network for Road Traffic Noise Mapping". Fabrizio Tappero, Rosa Ma Alsina-Pagès, Leticia Duboc and Francesc Alías presented another work focused on a low-cost device to evaluate urban sound, with a paper entitled "Leveraging urban sounds: A commodity multi-microphone hardware approach for sound recognition".
Rosa Ma Alsina-Pagès and Pau Bergadà from WaveControl were awarded with the Best Paper Award for their contribution with title "The citizen as a key point of the policies: a first approach to auralization for the acoustic perception of noise in an urban environment", which is a first approximation to an estimation of the real perception of citizens of the street urban noises collected by a low-cost wireless acoustic sensor network.
