Spring semester 2014: What to look forward too!

As the Second semester of the 2013/14 academic year gets under way, we can take a moment to reflect on what has been an impressive winter semester, and what we can look forward too this spring. La Salle students have now finished their finals for the first semester, and we hope that you have all exceed expectations and achieved fantastic results. But now the winter is coming to an end and the summer is fast approaching, and its time to get stuck in to the second semester! Firstly, a warm welcome to our new exchange students and professors. We hope you have a great time at La Salle and enjoy the wonderful city of Barcelona, and we are always here to give a helping hand if ever it is needed. I would also like to thank the student council for organising some excellent events during the first semester, and we hope there is plenty more to look forward to this semester. So, during the first semester we saw our students take part in a spot of bowling, enjoy and delicious Thanks Giving feast as well as a Christmas dinner, and we also witnessed the birth of La Salle's first ever student entrepreneurship club; Technova Young. But what can we expect to see in the spring semester? During the Easter break, La Salle's MUN committee will be heading for the infamous skylines of New York City, where they will spend a week participating in the MUN project with students from around the world. This year our students will be representing the Federation States of Micronesia, and we wish them the best of luck as they start to make the final preparations for their trip. During the week of the 5th - 9th of May, we will once again be celebrating our annual La Salle festival week. The event has become tradition over the years, and both students and proffesors alike are able to enjoy a host of activities organised by the students, including rock climbing, football, volleyball, barbecues, and of course my personal favourite, international food day. We can also expect to see a few more student dinners before the end of the year, as well as the occasional football tournament. So there is lots to look forward too in the coming months, but also lots of work to be done!
