Elisabet Golobardes: "What Do Machines Say When They Talk?"

On Saturday, June 8 at 12:30 p.m., the Roca Umbert Library was the setting for a captivating dialogue between Elisabet Golobardes, Vice-Rector of the Universitat Ramon Llull, and Karina Gibert on the challenges of artificial intelligence. Under the title "What Do Machines Say When They Talk?", Golobardes highlighted how machines reflect our stereotypes and prejudices. Gibert provided a broad perspective on the increasing complexity of this technology, exploring ethical and practical issues such as online dehumanization.

This exchange also addressed the digital divide and the ethical responsibility in the use of artificial intelligence. Golobardes and Gibert called for critical education and fact-checking to combat misinformation and polarization. These reflections, within the framework of the Opera Aperta festival, emphasize the need for a more conscious and responsible society in the face of future technological challenges.
