Conference announce: "FACe! FACS Facial Animation Engine"

Date/hour/place: 19/10/2010, 12h30, MediaDome, La Salle Speaker: Sergi Villagrasa (La Salle) Title: FACe! FACS Facial Animation Engine Abstract: We present a work in progress 3D facial animation system named FACe! At this time, it is able to generating expressions of the face throughout punctual and combined activation of Action Units (AUs), defined by Facial Acting Coding System (FACS) [Ekman and Friesen 1978]. This system is implemented on a 3D human head controlled by bones, riggers and skinning to deform the geometry. The bone system is implemented in order to move single or combined AUs, so that we can implement superior layers such as expressions, phonemes, words, emotions and the synchronization of all them together. This version of FACe! can import facial motion capture from a Vicom system and combine different captured AUs for recreate diferent expressions based on FACS.
