Training in Educational Robotics for Infant and Primary Education La Salle Campus Madrid

Barcelona, 15th of January 2021

During November 23 and 24, teachers from the Madrid de La Salle Sector have actively participated in the Educational Robotics Workshops. The EduEnginy Team of La Salle Campus Barcelona, made up of Elena Jurado and Roger Olivella, has carried out training for our teachers to be able to introduce boys and girls in the educational centers of the sector into robotics.

In the most formative aspect, teachers have acquired concepts and skills to implement in their educational stages in topics such as Scratch, Scratch Junior, Code.org, Lightbot or unplugged computational thinking.

The two training days have been developed in a collaborative environment between all the teaching staff of the different La Salle centers in the sector, thus promoting a display of quality for educational centers.

In the deployment of the New Learning Context, as Dr. Xavier Canaleta points out as coordinator of Digital Competence within NCA, Digital Competence will be one of the keys to take into account for our students due to the implications it has on our society. In this area, Computational Thinking will be one of the pillars in the new way of learning.

NCA workshops are more than fully technology-oriented workshops and educational robotics workshops are no exception. They work on all kinds of additional skills (such as cooperation, communication, engineering thinking, etc.) beyond pure technology. Workshops are a learning environment where pedagogical principles are developed in a more transversal way. The construction of thought, the social dimension of learning, self-regulated behavior or the mind, body and movement connection are essential elements that give our workshops its own and integral character in the training of students.
