The blog is back!
The blog is up and running again, and I will be the one posting here throughout this academic year. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Anne and I'm a fourth year student here at La Salle. I'm excited to feed you with information, news and updates here on the blog. This semester I will cover events hosted by the Social Club and Technova Young, the Entrepreneurship Club. I will keep you updated about what the NMUN group is doing and I will post reviews from other academical trips, as well as from the guest speakers who will visit La Salle. I will write about campus life and about what is happening in the new residence. In addition to this, I will initiate a new category to the blog: Alumni. For the development of this category I will carry out interviews with previous La Salle students, so we all can gain insights as to where our degree can lead us after graduation. I think this will be especially interesting for those of us who are graduating in June next year, as many of us don't know exactly where we would like to start our professional carriers. The midterms of the first semester have already passed, and winter is approaching promptly. The Social Club has arranged several successful events so far. During the second week of the semester, the club organized a barbecue at the basketball court.
Carla, Kunal, Anne, Judith, Sergi, Albert, Lahvry and Yasmin were the members of the Social Club from last year. After this event, the club was accompanied by some first year students.
106 tickets were sold, and event though most of the students present were business students, some architecture- and engineer students, as well as professors, also joined.
The event was a great chance for current students, new students and exchange students to get to know each other.
Early in October, when all students had settled down and were ready to really get the semester started, the club also hosted a welcome dinner. The dinner was held in the beach club Shôko, and over 140 students showed up for the buffet with a free bar. The Social Club also organized a halloween party, where they awarded the best dressed boy and girl.
A lot of things are going on here at La Salle, and I hope that you will check in on the blog again to stay updated. I would also be happy if you readers could propose topics that you would be interested to read about, and please feel free to ask me questions.
