What to do on Sunday in the city?

After a very active weekend, we like to relax and do nothing on Sundays.  But what if you have energy and everything is closed so you find yourself bored and restless? I am sure you would love to know what is open on a Sunday, so here are some options, just the tip of the iceberg.

Whether you have gone out the night before or not, wake up in time to have brunch, you won't regret

it!  There is a very quaint, cozy and affordable place called Milk, located near metro stop Jaume I (L4).   They offer a “Recovery” menu, where you can enjoy a wholesome brunch from 11:00 - 16:00 with fresh fruit smoothies, house-made blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, or traditional omelets.  For details of location and menu: http://milkbarcelona.com/

After you feel refreshed and full, walk across the street and go past the Barrio Gotico to the Ramblas where all the vendors are still selling on Sunday, selling everything from flowers and herb plants to animals and art work.    As you walk down towards the port, past the statue of Columbus you will see a bridge going to the Maremagnum mall.  This is the only shopping center open on  every day of the year, including Sundays.  The center not only has shops, but restaurants, ice cream shops like Ben and Jerry’s and hosts a range of artistic events.  http://www.maremagnum.es/ Looking for a place to see films in their original language?  While there is a cinema in the Maremagnum, the movies are not in their original language.  The Yelmo Cinema in the Icaria shopping center offers a wide selection and is the perfect way to wind down after your eventful Sunday.  To reserve tickets online or see what’s playing: http://www.yelmocineplex.es/node/49  After some exploring on your own, you will find that Sundays can be quite eventful in Barcelona.  So don’t waste one more Sunday.  Do something new, have brunch, buy some flowers, and I’m sure it will be a sunny day!
