MUN Committee: Post-New York City Trip.

Two weeks on from my last interview with delegates from the MUN committee, and our La Salle representatives have returned home after a successful and exciting trip. I spoke to Hala Cherradi, head delegate of the humanitarian and social committee, to find out more about the conference in New York. Luke: So how was the MUN conference and the trip to New York? Hala: It was a great experience. The conference lasted five days and was quite intense, so during this period we were very focused on the task in hand and worked very long days. We continued working on our draft resolutions throughout the conference, with informal and formal sessions. It was just great being in New York as well. After the conference finished we had a few free days where we could explore New York and see the sights. IMG_20140414_121717 Luke: How did the La Salle team perform in the conference? Hala: I think we did quite well. We all delivered our speeches successfully, we all participated as a sponsor of our draft resolution, and our resolution was voted in and became final resolution papers, so yes it went very well really. Hala: This is the second time i have been to New York for the MUN conference (Hala was also part of the La Salle delegation that went to New York in 2013), but its always different because you meet different people, experience different things, you are working with different countries on new issues, so it was still a great experience, and just as satisfying and exciting as the first trip last year. One of the greatest things about the project is being able to meet different people from all over the world, from different backgrounds and different ways of life. Dani in formal session Luke: You are personally in charge of producing the La Salle MUN video. How is that going and what is the video about? What will be included in the video and where will you film it? Hala: The video is basically about the preparation process, the experience of the MUN conference itself, and some of the sight seeing and other non-academic activities. The video is meant to be like a promotional video to encourage more students to participate in future projects for the MUN. Everyone in our group helped make the video and at least one person was filming the whole time we were there, so we have a lot of shots to sort through before we make the final edit which is due on May 1st. We already did most of the filming in New York and during the MUN itself, but we also have some filming to do here in Barcelona as well, but we have already finished writing the script and the film should be ready very soon.
