Cluster Catalonia | Audiovisual Talent Week

Four projects from La Salle-URL participate in the audiovisual pitching.

From November 13 to 17 the Disseny Hub in Barcelona hosts the Audiovisual Talent Week, an event organized by Cluster Audiovisual Catalonia that connects the emerging talent of university students in the audiovisual field with professionals from across the sector.   

In its ninth edition, four groups of the Degree in Digital Art and the Degree in Animation & VFX of La Salle-URL will have the opportunity to participate in the Audiovisual Pitching, one of the most significant activities of the event. Find out more!   

A week to boost Barcelona's audiovisual talent  

For five days, the Disseny Hub will become an audiovisual showcase with activities such as the new professionals market; a space designed to connect and facilitate companies in the sector contact with young talent through individual meetings of 10 minutes.   

They also encourage networking between students and professionals in the sector, bringing them closer to the day to day of their jobs with the Meet the experts activity.   

Its main action is the Audiovisual Pitching, where projects made by students from different universities are shown to industry professionals in categories such as fiction, TV formats, digital, immersive experiences...   

AVOID, B-SIDE, SPACED AWAY and TROUBLEMAKERS | Talent at La Salle-URL  

During the 15th and 17th, the pitchings of the different modalities were presented: fiction, TV format, international, videogames and immersive experiences. The prize, endowed with 2000€, also includes mentoring with professional experts in the sector, giving young people the opportunity to develop in depth their skills and knowledge in the sector.   

Four groups from the animation and digital arts area of La Salle-URL had the opportunity to show their final works during the audiovisual pitching. In this edition, the award for fiction work was for the short film B-SIDE, directed by a group of students from La Salle-URL.   

Below, we show you a small preview of the works made by Júlia Iglesis, Sergi Vizcaino, Pablo Matas, Elisabet Romo, Carmelo Zambrano, Dana Segura, Imruza Huseynova, Ivet Ramentol, Mariona Marcen and Miriam Martínez. Congratulations to all of them!

AVOID   

A team of explorers begins a journey to Planet Calise in search of resources. Unaware of the problem, they discover some caves that hide mysterious creatures, getting involved in an epic adventure fighting for their survival.  

B-SIDE - FLAMING HOT  

B-Side, winner of the 2023 Work of Fiction Award, explores the territory of growing up, shedding light on the insecurities and fears that follow us into adulthood. Through experimental animation, this short film deftly captures universal challenges.   

While exploring the human experience, B-Side not only reveals the hidden facets of our existence, but also serves as a vibrant platform for emerging musical expressions, making it a unique cinematic experience.  

SPACED AWAY  

Spaced Away is an immersive proposal in which spatial format and visual production converge to bring to life and characterize such an abstract feeling as loneliness and social anxiety. Through a careful combination of visual and spatial elements, it seeks to explore and express in a profound way the complexities of these emotions.   

With this proposal, an emotional dialogue is created that allows for a deeper connection with viewers, exploring the intersection between the visual and the emotional in a unique and meaningful way.  

  

TROUBLEMAKERS   

Three troubled teens are forced to stop the vengeful plan of an incompetent supervillain who intends to destroy the enchanted Woodhill Forest and the one thing most precious to them all: their treehouse.
