Content Marketing vs. Digital Marketing

Have you ever wondered what’s the difference between content marketing and digital marketing, and how these affect our everyday? It is absolutely true that content marketing plays a major role in Digital marketing, and this is why, many believe that there is no difference within the two.

Content can be anything from writing a blog post to creating photos, videos, and even Spotify playlists. I bet you are wondering why would companies want to focus on engaging potential customers and not just go for the direct sale? Content marketing’s aim,  is to stimulate consumer interest in a brand, raising brand awareness, creating a strong bond between customers and the brand. To success with content marketing, it is all about being valuable and providing value to your audience. Your goal for the content is to meet, or exceed the needs of your audience.

Digital marketing instead, incorporates the platforms that a company or business makes use of, in order to market itself online. Digital marketing includes search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing (SoMe), content marketing, email marketing, mobile marketing, etc. With time, digital marketing has become such a powerful tool for companies since it allows marketers to meet consumers via their preferred channels. That allows content marketing to be efficient. In this case, Digital marketing’s main aim, is to capture the client’s attention through appealing ads, pictures or quotes. Motivating the customers to go beyond the search results page. Once the ads get them to the website, it’s vital that the page is attractive, optimized, and easy to navigate.

Said this, there is a fine line that divides content marketing and digital marketing, but it is exactly that fine line that allows companies to succeed and create a high customer loyalty rate.
