Barcelona in Black & White

Brother Jordi gave me a link to a fantastic website with "European film treasures". Obviously there is one from Barcelona as well. The following link will bring you to the website where you can see the 7 minute clip. It's a view of BCN filmed from a tram in 1908. see-the-film-barcelona_by_tram The tram goes astonishingly slowly cutting through crowds of people talking, trading and laughing in the streets. Children and adults both behave silly seeing the camera on the tram. It's a simple clip but filled with insight. It is exceptional to compare the streets to today, in fact i couldn't recognize much of the city. The tram goes from Paseo de Gracia to the upper city (Lesseps, República Argentina, Craywinkle), and when it gets there it's like being in the countryside.
