Experience Speaks #1

"Experience Speaks" is a category where the idea is to interview ex-students of BES La Salle regarding their previous experience at the university and how has it helped them to reach where they are. The goal is to enlighten the current students of opportunities they can discover while in the university and also provide them an exposure to the real world of BUSINESS!

The first one to share his views with us is Claudio Di Gregorio from Italy. He currently works at Foundum.com, holds a degree of  Business Administration & Sport Management and graduated in 2010.

So below are his words:

Current Status:

I am currently working at Foundum (www.foundum.com) in charge of Content and Project Management. Foundum aims to become the global one-stop-shop for entrepreneurs. We are creating an online platform where entrepreneurs can find the necessary contacts and resources about their local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Lowering the barriers to creating companies, generating and diffusing better information will enable entrepreneurs and benefit the entire economy.
How has the experience at La Salle helped you at your workplace?
La Salle was surely a place where I grew as a person and as a professional. La Salle has been an enabler in allowing me to participate in many activities while taking the various core courses. I feel I received a great generalist business education and at the same time participated in practical activities where I could try out my knowledge and grow new skills. These activities included going to London to explore the 2012 Olympics preparations, help in conducting research for the F1 Grand Prix in Barcelona as well as doing a consulting project for MediaPro. Other student led activities such as the NMUN and the Student Council allowed me to practice public speaking, leadership, negotiation skills and travel to New York. Participating in the Google Marketing Challenge (our team reached the Semi-Finals) made
me discover the SEM industry; and this is useful knowledge in the company where I am now working.
Surely La Salle offered the infrastructure for me to grow, but it is up to the individuals and teams to be proactive and get involved as well as involve other students. La Salle made me realize my greatest skills and areas that need improvement. The people around me have been key in such a process and I know to now have an international network of friends to rely on.
Words of motivation for the students
Find what you love and what you are good at! Once you find it focus on it and make it your competitive advantage. Leverage this skill within a motivated and capable team and create the next big thing! There is no time to think small.
