Maria Østerhus Lobo works as a special advisor in the Norwegian Industrial Property Office

Maria Østerhus Lobo

I currently work as a special advisor in the Norwegian Industrial Property Office. This is a state agency which works within the field of intellectual property. We grant patents, trademarks and design protection. The office has more than 280 employees, spread over different departments such as patent, trademark, design and market and info services. My main task is to facilitate for external competence development related to IPR (intellectual property rights) amongst innovators, entrepreneurs, larger enterprises, attorneys and patent attorneys. My work requires me to attain a good knowledge on the IPR field, trends and developments both nationally and internationally. I work closely with international offices and organizations in order to develop the best offers to our customers as possible. My experience as a former student of Bachelor in Business Administration at La Salle Universities in Barcelona, has given me great understanding for the differences in culture and which opportunities and challenges you face when working with people from other countries. I learned and developed the skill of always being open-minded, patient and thorough in my work, which I have greatly appreciated since I started working.
