Helloooo! Today I’m going to write a little bit about my weekend and the student life here at Saint Mary’s College Campus. Friday afternoon the school organized a carnival party for little kids and it was great to see a bunch of students volunteering to entertain the children. Some had thought about different games and activities, others were just walking around in clown costumes, others were inflating balloons and there was also a DJ and a dance instructor! There were not only things to do, but things to eat as well. The school provided free popcorn and sweets for the kids! It was a great afternoon, and most importantly, the children had a GREAT time. After this carnival party I was invited to yet another party. This one though, was not organized by the school but by a classmate. It was a “prom theme party” and took place in his suite. Because it was a prom themed party, everyone was dressing very elegant and looking very sharp. Unfortunately, since I am here just for 3 months I did not bring my suits with me so I had to use my imagination… I decided to wear khaki pants, a white shirt, wine red tie, and a navy blue v-neck sweater; very classic. I must say that I was pretty happy with my outfit. Since I didn’t have all the clothes, my suitemates provided me with the sweater and the tie. The place was beautifully set with a table full of different cheeses, fruits like strawberries and grapes, various types of bread and crackers and of course, a fairly large selection of different wines. After eating some of the snacks and drinking some wine, we plugged the music in and started dancing and the night went through pretty quick. Some hours later, some of the people in the party, decided to leave the place and go for a walk up the hill to see the sun rise. This “trip” wasn’t easy to the girls since they were wearing long dresses and high heels but eventually we made to the top and we enjoyed a beautiful sunrise. As you can imagine, Saturday I was not active at all. Sunday, instead, my suitemates and I went to a Giants game. It was my first baseball game ever and to be honest I was quite surprised. Although the Giants lost, the atmosphere was amazing and we had a very, very good time. Now, I have to concentrate since this is our last week of class before spring break and I have an exam next Thursday. I’ll keep you guys informed!! Stay classy!
