The way to rent apartments in Barcelona > ShBarcelona

This is really important if you are planning to get your own place here. No matter if you are new to Barcelona and you are looking for an apartment or you want to change from living in Gracia to l'Eixample I got this really powerful agency that can help you get what you want. What I mean by powerful is literal. If you see something that interests you in their website, you are really just a phone call and an email away.  Unlike the other one which always lead you to no way. I can speak for myself... Lets check the options, the things I considered before I found my apartment today: Rent from Private Owner - Go online, check websites that has ads from over thousands of people. A few things will happen: 1. The apartments that are too good to be true. Yeap, big house, 600 euros a month.. The fact that the 'English' owner says he lived in Barcelona until his wife passed away and he returned home kinda make your wonder :p  I was so thrilled about the place I almost deposited my rent into thin air and receive fake keys! Lucky I was warned in time... 2. and more. Pictures don't match with the actual place / NOTHING works in the place / Good luck getting your deposit back (over 2000euros!)... Did I mention unfurnished or nasty furnitures? If you found a great one, it will be taken within the same day...!!!!!!! Impossible if you're not in Bcn Conclusion, it's a risk I wasn't willing to take... If someone is doing that is it works, I envy them. We are not the locals... But renting a room to share with roommates works really well there! I stayed in a beautiful place for a few months when I first got to Barcelona. Agencies, but reaching them online It is of course the secure to go, but they literally don't care unless you visit their office yourself. I guess the Spanish attitude kicks in a bit because since they're not sure if you will come, they are not motivated. They have holiday apartments to rent too, but I didn't want to be tourists and spend too much money. WHEN you are there: Most agencies only have apartment around their area, I found it quite limited because I was pretty open to options, I was up for whatever I liked more and cheapest. Plus, most of them asked me for a job contract which I don't have... Also, a big fail in interior design...

SO!!  Here's what I got: ShBarcelona

A local agency working online and in their offices. They had over 3000 Apartments rented out since they were established and they cater to International Students! You can choose to rent for just a few months, and even switch to another one if you like! And no job contracts needed ;) A great thing is they have apartment that will be available in a few weeks or months. It's perfect for people who are planning to move to Bcn and likes to plan ahead! The apartments are designed by them, they are really modern and genuine. Here are two close to La Salle, 1000euros and 800 euros per month. When you are in their website and you are looking at one of the apartments, everything you need to know is all in the same page! Rent, Map, what's in the apartment and what's around.. And they have their own engineers so all maintenance are included. They fixed my bathroom in one morning :) Next time you start searching, check them out!
