What are important digital marketing trends for 2019?

In this article we will discuss several digital marketing trends that cannot be unseen in 2019. Every year these trends can change because of consumer differences in taste or opinion. It is important for a company to understand these trends. And to make sure to use them, otherwise they will be left behind by other competitors. 

1: Chatbots

Chatbots have been important in the digital marketing industry for quite some time now. But they will continue to be like that in 2019 as well. With chatbots, companies can make sure their customers can ask a question and receive an answer right away. That way people don't have to wait any longer for an answer from an employee. They can receive answers during day or night. Chatbots can also recall someone’s buying history and they don't lose patience. Customers have made it very clear they like interacting with chatbots, because of all the benefits mentioned earlier. The technology around chatbots will continue to expand in 2019.

2: Personalization

It is important to stand out as a company. A good way to do to this is to personalize your marketing. Like content, products and emails etc. With the availability of purchase history, consumer behaviour and links clicked, custom content is easier to make. Many marketeers think that the personalization of content, products, emails and more really does advance customer relationships. 

A study done by Marketo shows that personalized emails that are based on behaviour are three times more efficient than emails that are not personalized. 

Netflix is one of many businesses that use personalization. When you have used Netflix a couple of times, the next time you enter the site the banner ,artwork ,text and search are personalized just for you.

3: Video marketing

Video marketing has been a trend the past few years. Companies found out that the customer experienced video content really well. The following numbers will definitely show how important it actually is to put video's into your digital marketing strategy :

  • Brands say that 70% of their consumers have shared one of their video's.
  • The conversion rate of 72% of the businesses has improved by putting video into their digital marketing strategy.
  •  Watching product video's had made 52% of the customers feel more confident in online with purchase decisions. 
  • Executives say that after they visit a website 39% call a vendor after viewing a video.   

These are some important points of the video marketing trends 2019.

4. Influencer marketing

The new generation is much more online than five or ten years ago. Influencers has seen this as an opportunity to reach their fans online. Companies have been taking advantage of this by using influencers to promote their products or services. Consumers are more willing to buy something earlier from a company when there influencers says the product or service is great. So instead of trying to reach your customers with a big marketing stunned this is an easier way. This is because people generally trust their influencers opinion.    
Influencers can be anyone, from celebrities, stars on Instagram /Youtube or bloggers.
