I came to Barcelona two days before Welcome week started. Shortly after I have arrived into my new flat I received a call from La Salle, it was Ms Candace Coughlin and she welcomed me to the new city and made sure that I was ready and prepared for the welcome week and couldn´t wait to see me. Welcome Week began on a beautiful sunny Monday morning and the beautiful weather lasted throughout the trip. The new students all came and we had a fun time getting to know each other because we had so many different stories to share from different parts of the world! Professors indroduced themselves and explained a bit more about their courses, La Salle arranged other professionals to visit us to give us some necessary information about living abroad... It helped me to become more prepared for the new school and as well as the city. For some, it began on Monday, but for me it started it started when Ms Couglin called and said hello. On the first day of welcome week, we got to know each other at a meeting by introducing someone you´ve just met. After we were acquainted, Steven, German and Chris came to make a presentation and told us a bit more about our courses and the choices of electives for the following year. Steven introduced us to the management part of business and the course contained learning the history theories of management, departments of a company and strategies to manage companies. German suggested we could choose Ethics and International Relations as electives for the following years and a chance to join the MUN. Chris is the Sports management professor and explained the importance and significance of business behind sport. In the afternoon, we had some activities like rock climbing and soccer games. On the next day, the university provided us with necessary information about Barcelona, insurance, banking, etc. Representative of Bank Santander visited us and offered advises. We also had a Spanish and math exam to identify the levels we were in. On the last day of welcome week we had a tour around the campus and visited the library, the swimming pool, gym, computer rooms and the architecture campus. After the tour, we took the tourist bus of Barcelona and visited the city. We stopped to have a lunch together and enjoyed the warm sunny day!
