One thing I wish I had known...

When I first moved to Barcelona, I wanted to get a contract with my mobile phone so that I would never be out of credit...*tragedy!* After standing in line for HOURS at Telefonica, I finally reached the counter and was firmly brushed off since I did not have a Spanish ID. I ended up getting this pre-pay card with Vodafone which just killed my budget. SMSing was very expensive and most pre-pay cards here are way overpriced. At the same time I was paying a fortune using the roaming function on my Luxembourgish phone.  After living in Barcelona for two years, I finally decided to listen to my friends and make my way to Bright. I have my phone clued to my hand at all times (yes I'm one of those..) and highly recommend this company to every person moving to Barcelona.  There are no language barriers, as everyone speaks fluent English. It does not matter if you are here for less than six months or more than 2 years. They even throw in a free phone if  you need one. Visit their website by clicking on the link above or stop by their office on Carrer Lincoln 1. (Just next to Otto Zutz) Like I said, I've tried the pre-pay cards but smsing costs around 45 cents per message and calling home is just impossible. If you do have a Spanish NIE number you can always get contracts with Telefonica, Vodafone, Orange, etc. Their deals are pretty good as well. The reason why I chose Bright was mainly due to the language barrier...anyone who has dealt with internet services here will understand why customer service is important!
